Preventing Flushing Associated With Wine.

Consuming quercetin, a bioflavonoid found in black tea before drinking alcohol significantly inhibits not only flushed skin but also wine related headaches, according to the Journal of Toxicology and environmental Health.

The reason is that Quercetin has an antihistamine effect, so the body is better able to stave off the inflammatory effects of the histamine in wine.

Sipping a glass of ice tea or a steamy mug before drinking red wine -plus having tea breaks throughout the evening will keep the unsavory effects at bay.
