Management of Rosacea

The skin of patients with rosacea is extremely sensitive to various dietary, environmental, and topical factors that initiate the symptoms of facial redness characteristic of rosacea. This sensitivity is probably due to a skin barrier dysfunction which results in the rosacea symptoms. Overall management of rosacea involves the avoidance of dietary and environmental triggers, along with the use of treatments. The appropriate selection of over-the-counter and prescription skin care products is equally important.
